The Seeding Serendipity advent calendar is a free digital advent calendar for adults with 24 doors, one for each morning from December 1 to 24. Each door opens at midnight on your own clock and holds a small surprise, like a little game that plays right in the door, a printable for the new year or a gentle ritual. It costs nothing, needs no account and works on a phone or a computer.

Why open an advent calendar door in the morning?
I think it’s a whimsical way to start your morning, with a little magical moment of opening a door and seeing what’s behind it. Not to oversell it, but it’s fun to open a little surprise, and it adds to the magic of the season.
I’ll be opening mine while I drink my coffee or tea and check my email, so it just becomes part of my morning routine. If you already have a morning routine, the door can slot in next to whatever you do first.
Whether you use what’s behind the door or not, it’s tiny excitement and it’s free.
What’s behind the doors? (No spoilers)
I’m not naming any doors or their days, since the surprise is the fun part. Across the 24 you’ll find:
- Little games that play right inside the door
- Printables for planning and tracking the new year
- Gentle rituals and kind words to keep or pass along
- A calm focus timer you can save and use on any day
- Three one-day codes for apps I built
A lot of the doors lean toward getting ready for the new year, which fits how I grow my own luck with small steps. I like to use the time between Christmas and New Year’s to set my intention for the year and get organized. A few of these printables are ones I’ll be using myself to set myself up. Hopefully you find something in there that’s useful to you, too. If you’d like a paper planner for that week between the holidays, I kept the Intelligent Change Productivity Planner I tried, because it walks you through picking your priorities for each quarter.

How does this advent calendar for adults work?
- One door opens each day from December 1 to 24, at midnight where you live.
- Missed a morning? Earlier doors stay open, so you can catch up whenever you like.
- You don’t need an account or an email to open a door.
- Printables download as PDFs you can print at home, and the small tools save to your device and open in your browser.
- Each open door has a share button, so you can send a friend straight to it.
- The three app codes only work on the day their door opens.
Get your December mornings ready
- Open the calendar above and bookmark this page.
- Pick the moment you’ll open each door, like your first cup of coffee or tea.
- Put your email in the box under the stocking if you’d like a note on December 1.
- Or tap the Apple, Outlook or Google Calendar button under the doors for a daily reminder.
How do I get a reminder when the first door opens?
Under the stocking on the calendar there’s a box called “Don’t miss a door.” Leave your email there and you’ll get one email on December 1 when the calendar opens. You can also check the box for a short email each morning when a new door opens. If you’d rather skip email, the buttons under the doors add a daily reminder to your own calendar instead.
You never need an email to open a door. Still, if you sign up for the reminder or check the box for the Seeding Serendipity newsletter, it would help me out a lot.

Frequently asked questions
When does the Seeding Serendipity advent calendar open?
It opens December 1, 2026. Door 1 opens at midnight your time, and one more door opens each morning through December 24.
Is this advent calendar for adults free?
Yes. Every door is free to open, and you don’t need an account or an email to use it.
What if I miss a day?
You can catch up any time. Once a door opens it stays open, so a busy week doesn’t mean you’ve lost anything. The app codes are the one exception, since each code only works on the day its door opens.
Is it silly to want an advent calendar as an adult?
No. I’ve always loved them, and there’s an advent calendar for nearly everything now, so I love having one as an adult too. Most of my childhood ones had chocolate behind each door, and this one has little surprises instead.
Does the advent calendar work on a phone?
Yes. It works on phones, tablets and computers. You’ll want a printer for the printables, and the rest works right on your screen.
My other blogs have advent calendars too, if you want a second door to open each morning. Jen Tried It has a free digital advent calendar full of holiday printables and party games, Admin Arcade has an advent calendar of organizing printables, and jen8n has a builder advent calendar with free Claude Code skills. If you’d like to make one of your own, I wrote up how I built these advent calendars on jen8n.

Open the calendar on December 1, and give yourself a few quiet minutes with door 1 before the day gets busy.
