We are all planting seeds. The question is whether we are doing it on purpose.
About
My name is Jen, and I believe we are all planting seeds whether we realize it or not. The question is whether we are doing it with intention. You reap what you sow, that part has always felt true to me. This blog is about making sure the seeds we plant are good ones.
It Started With My Grandpa
I was raised by my grandparents. My grandpa was the kind of man who would press a book into your hands knowing that if and when you read it, it would change your life. He was always finding ways to share tools and quotes for living more abundantly, not always pushy about it, just generous with what he knew.
One of his favorite books was If You Can Count to Four by J. Jones. He was ahead of his time, and he shaped how I saw the world before I even knew it was happening.
Then My Grandma Changed Everything
When I was in my late teens, my grandma caught an Oprah episode about a woman who entered sweepstakes and had won all sorts of incredible things. My grandma told me about it immediately. She knew this was my thing.
She was right. I dove in headfirst. Back then, sweepstakes were mostly mail-ins, so I built a whole system around them. Decorated envelopes, stacks of index cards, filled out and mailed on repeat. My dream job at the time was genuinely to be someone who stuffed envelopes for a living. LOL!
And it worked. I won trips, furniture, electronics, bags of swag. I kept a spreadsheet tracking every win. I was on a streak and I knew it. Looking back, I had what people now call lucky girl syndrome. Before it was a viral trend, before anyone had a name for it, I was already living it.
I am not chasing one big win. I am planting lots of seeds and trusting that some of them bloom.
I Have Always Been a Treasure Hunter
Here is something I have known about myself for a long time: I am more motivated by the maybe than the for-sure. Some people want the steady paycheck and the guaranteed outcome. I would rather do dozens of small things that have a chance to take off.
I know I had the privilege of being able to play around with that when I was younger with no real obligations, just the freedom to try things and see what stuck. Sweepstakes made perfect sense for me then. And honestly, that same energy is the goal.
Over the years it just evolved. Now it looks like posting a video, listing something online, picking up a new skill, reselling finds, creating content, building automations, whatever might open a door I cannot see yet.
Some people call that being a dreamer. I do not think that is a bad thing as long as you are realistic about it.
Then Life Started Lifeing
Sometime in my mid-to-late twenties, things shifted. Life got harder, and my mindset followed. I spent some years in real struggle, not always financially, all the ways.
Looking back, I can see that the shift in my thinking changed the trajectory of everything.
The seeds I was planting were not good ones, and I was reaping exactly what I sowed.
The Work I Have Been Doing
I am 47 now, and I have been doing the work. Therapy, nervous system healing, getting my body moving, paying attention to what I believe and why I believe it. It has not been fast or linear, but I am coming back to myself. I can feel it.
I am ready to start planting good seeds again.
Why I Started This Blog
I started Seeding Serendipity because I know I am not the only one who has lost their way. Life pulls us off course. Mindset slips. We forget that we are always planting something and stop being intentional about what it is.
I want to share the journey back. The seeds I am planting, the woo-woo things I am trying, and the wins when they come, because seeing is believing.
What I believe after all of it: do not wake up and only declare yourself a lucky girl. Do the ritual AND plant the seeds. Believe AND take action. The mindset and the behavior together. That is the partnership this blog is about.

Why Seeding Serendipity?
Serendipity is one of those words that sounds like pure luck. A happy accident. Something good that just falls into your lap out of nowhere.
But serendipitous things tend to happen to people who are already out there doing something. Posting the video. Entering the contest. Learning the skill. Reaching out. Showing up.
The more seeds you plant, the more chances you create for something unexpected and wonderful to happen. You cannot manufacture the moment, but you can absolutely increase the odds of it finding you.
That is the whole idea. Plant enough seeds, tend them with intention, and serendipity has a lot more places to land.
